Protocol shits on some films

Salt: If you find Angelina Jolie hot, then this film just passes the watchable mark. The plot has more holes than INSERT HOLED OBJECT HERE and the script is borderline painful in some places. However, action is fun if you suspend your disbelief (Even bruce willis cannot jump 5 speeding trucks in a row)

The Burbs: Tom Hanks moves into a new neighbourhood. Hilarity ensues. I enjoyed myself. The moral of the story is mind your god damn business.

Toy Story 3: I laughed, I cried, it was a rollercoaster I could not put down.

The Karate Kid (2010): The original has much more charm to it, but I still enjoyed myself.

Avatar SE: I don't know why I allowed myself to be dragged to this. Pretty only works ONCE, Senor Cameron.

I heard at least 3 positive opinions regarding The Karate Kid yet for some reason it's IMDB rating is 6.1. Why?

Movie Critics generally have no idea what they are talking about. The most well paid ones say what they think is going to be popular and all the others say the exact same thing.

Rotten tomatoes is bollocks for reviews and ratings imo. Actually, ign is just a steaming pile of shit to begin with anyway.

The worst part is... Critics will find a negative point of a film, and stick to that point. In doing so, they additionally give the movie a poor rating based on that point.

It's impossible to find a good review on the internet. That's why I say "fuck it", and watch movies based on "if I think I will like it".

I don't see how there can be objective criteria for rating films.

I'm yet to not go to a movie cos of a review from a critic

I judge movies for myself, i trust my friends opinions on them, but i still wanna see them for myself tbh
