So, anybody heard this through yet? I've listened through now quite a few times and i think its unbelievably good, perhaps even better than The Blackening

Can't pick a favorite, but if one tune were to stand out marginally more to me is This is the end.

Any thoughts from other metal music fans?

Disappointment. 7 songs. Sell outs.

I've only liked Protest the Hero - Scurrilous and Electric Wizard - Black Masses this year. Metal's mainstream is dire as Hell these days.

I've seen worse. These guys structure a lot of their songs pretty similarly, but at least they're done concisely... but people want here more than just good musicians going at it rhythmically then calling it a song, then pasting a bunch of those to a generic album name.

Maybe if listeners weren't so jaded to discern true quality even over time, then there would be more motivation to put more effort into constantly outdoing themselves every time they put out a record.

Have to say I've never been a great fan of Machine Head. They have a few nice grooves but the majority is a bit too repetitive for me.

Although I'm liking Mastodon's new album.

Really dont understand why people dislike them, ok they went a bit nu-metal in the late 90's and very early 2k's but man didnt everybody to an extent? it was the biggest wave in music at the time.

Only reason why you all hate is because they turned nu-metal from like 1998 to 2003, but if you actually think for a second, most of your well known metal bands did including slayer and metallica... and machine heads nu metal material is amazing also, better than most if not all during that period.
