Obviously everyone's heard of Man vs. Wild with Bear Grylls, and it's an alright show but feels very set up.

I've been watching Survivorman lately, pretty accurate show, dude is out there all by himself with no camera crew and provides lots of helpful tips.



What's your opinion on these shows, /alpha/? Helpful and genuine or set up and made only for $$$? Have you ever applied anything they taught you?

Man vs Wild indeed looks set up, although I don't see a problem with a cameraman travelling with a host as long as they don't make his presence a kind of a 'secret'.
