Who'd you see? -- Download 06

Postby Conceited » Mon Jun 12, 06 10:28 pm

Alright, I dunno how many of you went, but those who did, which bands did you see at download?
I saw:
Friday:
Wicked Wisdom - yeaaa big Will
Soil
Strapping Young Lad
Soulfly
C&C
Tool*

Saturday:
Satyricon
Arch Enemy
Alice in Chains
Trivium
Korn
Metallica*

I wanted to watch A7X but lots of shit kicked off at my tent with the 'officials' apparently having an issue, so they needed sorting out. Cunts.

Sunday:
Breed77
Hatebreed
36 Crazyfists
Dragonforce
In Flames
Lacuna Coil
Cradle of Filth
Bullet
Lordi
Guns N Roses

S'it, caught a bit of Skindred but thats it. Mainly hung at the main stage and I had a bitch of a time deciding between Lordi and Prodigy but decided on Lordi in the end.

Didn't you think Guns N Roses were absolutely appauling?
Especially when the bassist started talking about how it wasnt fair that a bottle hit him. For fuck sake, he's in a rock band, he's gonna get hit with stuff. Other bands, such as Tool, who were the best, IMO, just laughed and cradle urged bottles on.

GnR are now fags.

Yes, I laughed when he said that.

What was with Axel going in and out?!, cause his mic wasn't loud enough?
Stupidity...

A7X and Trivium were very appauling.

A7X:
First time I've seen them live...

THEY SUCK SO MUCH.
Right, I noticed the drumming was ALOT different than it was from the LP versions, he practically made most bits up as he went along.
As for the guitarists, Syn was alright, Zacky was exactly like Rev with his playing.
Matt Shadows = ego powerless vocal fag.
Didn't notice anything wrong with the bass.

Trivium trying to sound like Metallica hurts so much

I think Axl kept going backstage to have a break, to be honest, technical difficulties my arse, he's getting old, he was knackered and it was all going horribly for him.
How many 'gone back 'cos the nurse has his flu jab' jokes can there be from one crowd? Many, is the answer.
I quite enjoyed Trivium but, as i say, missed A7X.
Did you catch Dragonforce?
SYL were really good on friday, and Devin is one funny guy.

I was listening to Dragonforce from the distance.
I could hear the SHIT perfectly.
They need to learn how to structure a song properly.
But I heard about the air guitar pits, rofl.

SYL are one of the highlights by far, lmao.
They're so good live, Devin is fucking immense.

Mint. Sounds mint. Anyone off to Creamfields? Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliwell, AvB will all be there! :D

Unfortunately though there won't be any Trivium, Dragonforce or SYL :(

No its moved from the old airfield and into Cheshire i think. People complained about all the local scallies robbing them blind. Pretty lucky having it near your house for a number of yrs though. :)

Yeah, I don't mind the noise!

But JESUS FUCKING CHRIST at the scallies there, its fucking aruggggh.

You should be like, forced to give tickets at the entrance of the Airfield itself so no scallies could of gone in.

And good that it aint happening this year, last year it happened during the early construction of new industrial buildings...looked ugly while walking to the Creamfields area I surpose.

And I live where the carpark entrance was last year, you could imagine the shouting rofl. :)

And I always had first pics on finding dropped wallets!...I mean come on admit it, who wouldnt?

Me! The only time i ever found a wallet (it had 40 quid in) was outside someones drive and despite protests from a couple of my mates to go spend it on sweets (i was only about 12) at the local shop, i kindly asked the owner of the driveway if they have lost anything recently, to which 'wallet' was replied. At least one of us is going to heaven when they die. :D

Speaking about wallets eh? I got a good story! Me and Jake [Archetype] were getting on the bus to go into Leeds and there was a purse on the floor in the middle of the bus, so i kicked it to the back, picked it up and this guy said "Can I have a see of that? I'm getting off the bus now I'll give it to the driver", yeh like I believed him lol, anyway he got off so we got the purse open and there was like £110 in it 8)

GRRRR don't refer to them as Guns 'N' Roses; it is not Guns 'N' Roses - it is just that arrogant prick Axl Rose who ruined one of the greatest rock bands ever with his cock-in-arse attitude, and now is trying to selfishly recreate it.

Yeah it wasnt really Guns N Roses, only had Axl Rose and their old keyboardiest, but Izzy came as a 3rd old member for 3 songs.

Keyboard player? They never had one (they just hired them or Axl played).

Funny story, the bald one RAGED because he was looking forward to Metallica, and I said is he looking forward to James Hetfield, he said "who da fks james hetfield?" I rofled and insulted him, and he was out to get me since.

He peed on my tent.
Broke it.

But all fairdos, I was pissing in his sleeping bag for 4 days.
