i dont think hes trying to be funny in direct sense, he lives the part hes created. In a way that borat person is a sharp weapon that deals blows to the society weakpoints. He himself, a jew, gaining popularity among rednecks with a song that is mostly about throwing a jew to the well.

I think he is brilliant, when he was amusing in Ali G role as Borat he simply exceeds everything.

i didnt know that particular jew song was 5 years old. surprising, i found it very funny, especially when all the rednecks started singing along.

Another good one is where he's in the Gym and a bloke is showing him how to use one of the excirise machines, the bloke has his head at Borat's coq level and he has a hard on or whatever you wanna call it.
