Firefox Problem

Postby Mr. Tastix » Thu Jan 04, 07 10:57 am

For lack of a "Technical issues" board for general problems rather than Deus Ex related ones, I'm posting my problem here.

In Firefox (version 2.0.0.1) it will not let me bookmark websites via the "Bookmark -> Bookmark this page..." option. Instead, to bookmark sites I have to manually do it via the Bookmark Manager which is fucking annoying!

I've tried uninstalling it then reinstalling it normally, I've tried uninstalling it, deleting all files associated with it then installing it again several times. But it won't fucking work!

EDIT: I forgot one more thing. I also have problems with the Toolbar bit. When I customize it and add things to the Toolbar (beside the Address Bar) they just randomly disappear. So basically, I add them, then I exit FF. Load FF again, they're gone...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your profile has been screwed up. You have to do a complete uninstall:

1. Uninstall Firefox.
2. Go to C:Documents and SettingsUserNameApplication DataMozillaFirefoxProfiles
4. Delete everything in that folder. (Back up the bookmarks.html file and other things if you want)
5. Go to C:Documents and SettingsUserNameLocal SettingsApplication DataMozillaFirefoxProfiles
6. Delete everything in that folder.
7. Install firefox again (and replace the backed up files, if any).
