BIOs settings... Help pl0x...

Postby Gishank » Tue Nov 13, 07 12:13 pm

Alright, seeming as my other heap of shite which i trusted Royal Mail to deliver, hasn't arrived yet... I feel like Overclocking my pc... So here are a few Qs..... When i made my other custom PC, i got my cousins Dad to do the overclocking, should'a asked him to tell me how. xD

1. How do i actually edit CPU clock settings etc, all i know is how to get the BIOs thing up on my PC (F2, DEL)

2. Would i be able to over clock my CPU from 2.20 GHz to 2.40 Ghz, and my RAM from 1024, to 1124 Meg, safely...? Without the need for heaploads of more cooling?

Kaiden, do you HAVE to post saying that you don't know Kaiden?.... Jeez... Back in my day that was counted as Spamming..

Anyways... 2.20 ~ 2.40 = a mere 200 Mhz...? Shouldn't be that hard?... lol

For the most part, there should be settings in your bios, under chipset. your looking for FSB speed, as well as anything referring to timings. Sometimes, actually usually, there are Jumpers on the actual physical mobo for forcing speeds. Wrong settings may blank out a reboot, but set it back and it SHOULD work out fine. Refer to owners manual for mobo or google it.
As for RAM timings, ive never messed with those... no idea.

Ye, check your manual. What make is your mobo? Model? Some don't even support overclocking, but auto-sense the speed.
