I tried to get onto this server some time ago and i had package mismatch of catherdal map

Apparently some versions come with a weird broken dxmp_Cathedral. It's a map rarely hosted because of that.

Yeah quite easily.

Go to MyComputer>C:>DeusEx>Maps (By default) and in ther you'll find DXMP_Cathedral.dx. Delete or move this file somewhere while Deus Ex is closed and it should work fine.

i usually go to my deusex/maps and delete the one i have and redownload it from the site i try to enter

When I had this mismatch thingy I deleted DXMP_Cathedral from Maps folder and from Map list in DeusEx.ini . Then I went on the server where I wanted to play and I downloaded it. It worked fine. (Takes about 2 minutes)

You know dear Daedalus when someone downloads files from a server, it usually laggs aswell. The lag time depends on how fast the server is. I thought you've already known this. One more thing: You have to download the map only once! E.g. I go on a server hosted by dxmp.net, the download takes 30 seconds.

Only if you have the right configuration for your cache. And not everyone has that. I highly doubt you have it aswell. Cache (the things you download) get deleted once in a while.

Yeah, the cache is deleted after a month by default.

Ahh yes, I remember having to re-download maps over and over randomly because of that. Especially cathedral and some other user made maps.

so what? you lag the server when it takes nothing to download a .zip
it's a matter of ethics
