Hey, I've just come back to Dx after nearly a summer away from it.
But when I go into servers I walk and jump as if its 0-Gravity. I walk slow and jump slow whats the problem. My "Toggle walk/run" key is working fine.
Im not sure what to do about it. Any help is greatly thanked

Press Caps lock in game, see if that helps.

Are you on a laptop?

Has anything changed since you played last time when everything was fine? I mean, like hardware upgrades. I'm not sure what is it.

Edit: I think I know. Uninstall Alrighty Game.

If you want to keep it for the server, install Deus Ex to another place for hosting purposes only, or run DeusEx.exe with -ini parameter.

I don't think it's anything to do with ToggleWalk/Run, I was playing Slimline on my dad's computer a while back and the same thing happened. It was like being stuck on SloMo 2 on MP. :? While all the other players flew about and slaughtered me. :lol:

It was a computer, I don't know anything about it tbh, it's up north now. :(

I have tried capslock and everything else, and yeah its a Labtop.

Ok so to uninstall alrightys game I remove its files and change the MTL lines?
If so would you be able to post the lines form your DX.ini that I need to replace the Alrighty lines in the ini... If you get what I mean >_< i suck at explaining.

Code: Select all
DefaultGame=AlrightyGamev3.AlgameInfo
DefaultServerGame=AlrightyGamev3.AlTeam

Think these are the lines I need to replace.
I have deleted alrightygame from my server packages.

make sure that
Code: Select all
Class=DXMTL152b1.MTLJCDenton

in [Engine.Engine]
Code: Select all
DefaultGame=DXMTL152b1.MTLGameInfo
DefaultServerGame=DXMTL152b1.MTLDeathMatch

also, change
Code: Select all
ServerActors=AlrightyGamev3.AlServerQuery

to
Code: Select all
;ServerActors=AlrightyGamev3.AlServerQuery

I'm not sure if AlrightyGame causes your problem, but it's worth checking.

AMD Dual-Core Optimizer - The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer can help improve some PC gaming video performance by compensating for those applications that bypass the Windows API for timing by directly using the RDTSC (Read Time Stamp Counter) instruction. Applications that rely on RDTSC do not benefit from the logic in the operating system to properly account for the affect of power management mechanisms on the rate at which a processor core's Time Stamp Counter (TSC) is incremented. The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer helps to correct the resulting video performance effects or other incorrect timing effects that these applications may experience on dual-core processor systems, by periodically adjusting the core time-stamp-counters, so that they are synchronized.

Thanks Dae, but unfortunatly DX is still Slomo.
Hmm... I dont know what it could be.

DX used to be like this when I had my AC power switched off, but when I turned it on it was fine.
Now when AC Power is on its slomo aswell as having AC Power off.
I dont know.
But thanks Dae .

Since you're on the laptop, try turning off Power Management (Control Panel -> somewhere in Power Options). The link Jon gave seems to be another way to solve the problem, but I personally haven't used that program.

Nah its ok now, need for any help seeing as it isnt on my computer anymore since I installed Jon "Special'' Game performance enhancer software I had to re install windows and theres nothing on my computer anymore.

You cant possibly know the damage you have done... I had 30 pages reports done for school on my labtop that would have accounted for 45% of my work. Gone! Everything i needed for school gone.....

Thanks Jon... thanks.

Oops, sorry.

Its from AMD, used for dual core processors; I attached the description to give you an idea of why it should be used, and what it helps with.

I'm not going to be stubborn and say its your fault; I apologise.

Say its my fault? you gave me the file .. I scanned it with many programs, seemed to be ok and I also trusted you and the A members, so I installed it. Yet now i will most probaly fail in school.
Sounds like you dont even really care.

That sucks ass, man, I know how you feel. I lost like 95% of my weapons during 2004 when Konami attempted to clean my disk and deleted a needed file - accidentally.

At any rate, can't you do system restore?

Did you reinstall your windows already? In case you did, everything is probably lost.

Reinstalling Windows wasn't a good idea

Do you have actually have a AMD Dual-Core?

Did you do a full format, or a quick format.
Or didn't you format at all.
Full format = all lost.
Quick format (Takes a few minutes to format) = you can recover parts.
No format = you can recover all.

(Mind you, I had to reinstall Windows several times, while my sisters school project was on the computer A very important school project, it was not deleted.)

With Vista, it creates back-ups for you weekly etc. You just put in the disc and it finds backup's i.e when you last installed a programme.

by ~M3GG4~
Nope, I re-installed windows with the disc, and my computer is blank, Even had to setup internet again because it wasnt r cognising my router.

Today was awfull aswell, My parents and school are so pissed off i dont know what to do.
I Think ... ah I dunno.
I spent all last night up and today trying to re-create what I did, with crfappy english, and I didnt even get close to 5% of the whole project.

Man, I wish i wasnt alive right now.

Try this Destroyer.

You might've deleted the school project by using your computer and creating new files though.
