That is correct.
A file with an extension of .BAT, containing a list of commands or program routines that the computer will execute in sequence.

The only batch files I have ever seen, are something malicious.. Depending on who you got it from, it's probably wise to lose it.

Then again, most are trojans, so unless they're from trusted sources, scan it then delete it anyway. =D
