The start up menu goes slower and when i go in game it goes extremaly slow i was woundering if this was happening because of my amd dual core so if there is anyway to fix this i would thankfull if you could post your ideas. Thanks.

This is interesting. Slow on Vista, fast on Mac.

The problem is in game, not OS

try running the game in Windows 98 compatibility mode. In order to do that, find DeusEx.exe in DeusEx/System folder, right click on it, go to properties and in one of the tabs find compatibility options.

try this: launch Deus Ex, in-game press Ctrl + Alt + Del, switch to "processes tab", then find "DeusEx.exe", right click on it -> in the context menu select the bottom menu item -> leave only one tick (either CPU 0, or CPU 1, not both)

then check if your Deus Ex runs any better

The optimiser does all that without having to reset it every time you run it.

Another way would be modifying the .exe with imagecfg, so it automatically boots DX with affinity to one processor. (Also works for intel CPU's, I'll post it up if required)

It's not just another person who happens to be called Smiffy, he has deliberately stolen your names; He sometimes goes by "Cheesemeister" as well.
