Connections

A problem i've noticed cropping out with my wireless router is this:

When i use my wire connection i usually have to connect to Tiscali Broadband (in the list of connections there is BT Yahoo, BTOW, Tiscal Setup and Tiscali Broadband), however whenever the wireless is installed most of the time, i just click on the X and it lets me surf the web as normal. However recently it has started to act odd, now most of the time when i click on the X, i can't access the Internet, but the odd thing is, moments later it can be fine (however most of the time it fails to start again at all). I can't connect the normal way as it says No Dial Tone found.

Any suggestions as to how i can be rid of this problem?

Lol, sounds like you're connecting to a 56K line.

That's called dialing with a broadband adapter. A simulated analog modem.

You want to simulate slow internet connection? O_o

No, I mean, it's a special device driver that's recognized by windows as dial up device but in reality it's much faster because that driver communicates with the broadband modem. Such drivers are often required for older windows versions, that aren't aware of broadband based connecting.

Isn't there a way i can get broadbad to connect straight away instead of using that, cos it sounds like it's causing the problem i'm having?

I guess, you used that tutorial.

In case you did, use the second option, not the first.

Then continue with step 6, followed by step 8 and 9.
