Installing Nephthys Remotely

Hey all.

Licentia Pugno (now renamed as an FTF server) started up today. The server's going okay (still need map suggestions ffs!) but I got a problem.

I seriously need Nephthys. I'm pretty good with Nephthys usually, but I can't get it to work on my server. Obviously I can't run the .exe file, so how would I go about installing it?

I tried manually installing it to a fresh DX installation (locally), and uploading the files / editing deusex.ini, but to no avail.

If someone could help I'd appreciate it.

PS: Fkn map suggestions pweeeeease

Eh, just run the .exe and it's done? Get from Modifications, unzip, and run?

What happens exactly (log file, DeusEx.ini)?

Right, well.. sorry I didn't explain properly last night.

Basically I installed Nephthys locally, as I always do to home-host (and I might add it always works fine), then I uploaded the files created by the Nephthys installer:

-Nephthys.dll
-Nephthys.int
-Nephthyswebdownload.ini

to the remote server's system folder.

I then copied the changes that the Nephthys installer made to the deusex.ini - i.e. I changed the serveractors (server query, and the master server lines) to the nephthys ones.

Basically I did everything that nephthys does on install, but manually.

Then I re-started the server, and (After a long time) it shows on the server list as simply an IP, and a player count of 0/0, ping of 9999.

Incidentally, last night I saw a server called "What faulty server query tool are you using?" (not exactly that, but basically what I'm getting at is the servername was the nephthys beratefakemasters line! how the hell did they fuck that up?!)

Anyhoo.

You missed IpDrv.dll. Copy that too to your remote server (backup first).

After locally adjusting Nephthys to your needs you might also want to copy Nephthys.ini. Don't do that if you customized Nephthys on your remote server already.

Yeah thanks, I'm an idiot. Forgot to run my local copy before uploading!

I only missed out IPDrv.dll in the forum post, looks like I uploaded it.

All done now. Cheers!
