What Ports Need To Be Forwared to Host DX Server?!

TCP Ports
7790-7792,8777
UDP Ports
7790-7792,8777,27900

Is all I can pull. Are they any others? Plus where is a good server hosting guide these days?

Might as well do them all to be safe xD. Not sure about 27900 though.[/list]

safe? opening more ports lover the safeness of your pc. if i was you, i would open only ports that are actually bound with programs, not free ports. malwares can exploit free open ports by putting proxy server on your pc and then tons of wannabe hackers hack pr0n sites via your pc. just to let you know.

Dejavu is right:

(Except that you usually only need to allow incoming traffic for your server. The outgoing traffic is needed for your client connecting to outside servers, but you can't "forward" these in your router - it does it all by itself as long as you allow that traffic).

Google for it and you know where.
Repeating half-knowledge doesn't make it true, though.

In a firewall you need to allow your game (= Deus Ex client) outgoing TCP traffic to destination port 27900 to enable your client to fetch the master list from master.gamespy.com. But outgoing traffic usually isn't a thing you need to configure in a router. A router has no problem with outgoing traffic. All outgoing traffic is allowed by default.

Port 8777? I don't know. Maybe someone copied some rules of a different Unreal engine based game.

Either you fill-in the port numbers given in this or some other forums without understanding what's happening (and maybe it's working for you or maybe not) or you take the task on you and read-in into networking, routing, protocols and ports. As Dae said in http://www.dxalpha.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12844 : 8)
