I have an ATI X1300 Pro and it runs HL2 perfectly. That is a problem with the disc, the video card or the engine.

I have a fucken' INTEL MOBILE GRAPHICS CARD and can run it fine, albeit on the lowest settings but I can actually play it (not Episode 2 though, which really REALLY sucks).

In fact, all of my games work on Windows Vista perfectly fine. If I've not tried 'em then my mate has (but trust me, I have, lol). Even the oldest games work. C&C Red Alert works, C&C ONE works and those were made in the 90s. DOOM 1 WORKS FINE... with DOSBox... so don't count that, lol.

Hell. THE SIDESCROLLER JAZZ FUCKING JACKRABBIT EVEN WORKS. And that game is FUCKING OLD. And still, surprisingly fun, IMO lol.

Jazz Jackrabbit owns!!!!
Threadjacking time.... Anyone know if Deus Ex will play on Vista x64??

Anyway - I got HL2 running fine on Vista. Had problems getting the original game to run (I love the old game) but you can just use Microsoft Virtual PC to run XP in a window (if ya pc is powerful enough)

If DX runs on Vista x32 I don't see why it wouldn't on x64. I can't answer your question accurately though, try going on some Windows Vista forums and ask around? Or just some tech support forums in general perhaps?
