Posted: Mon Aug 25, 08 7:47 amHas anyone been able to get .ico (Icon Files) to open in Photoshop CS3? I can't seem to get them to open and it's really pissing me off too. Anyone lend a hand, please?

Posted: Mon Aug 25, 08 10:10 amNot making favicons lol. And you don't need .ico's for them, just make the shortcut image file lead to a .png or .gif instead .ico lol. So much easier to deal with.
I'm actually trying to open icon sets to use for certain parts of a website design but can't open any of the damn sets, which is incredibly annoying because icon sets are extremely useful and I can't find many royalty free ones.

Posted: Mon Aug 25, 08 10:42 amFor the web-design there are free sets that are free even for the commercial usage (which is, for example, placing ads on your site). The icons in these sets are already in a .png format and ready to use.
But I know that my FastStone Image Viewer (excellent free image viewer) opens and converts ico's without problems.
