Unable to run 1680x1050 res. but monitor is capable -> resorting to 1280x1024 (FOV Calc. help)

I have a dual core processor, which, when I run deus ex, makes DX run abnormally fast, so I have to run it in windows 95 compatibility, which doesn't allow the 1680x1050 resolution that my monitor is capable of. Instead it only allows up to 1280x1024. What is the FOV for this setting/how can i allow widescreen with it? (if possible)

Thanks.

Why not just do the change affinity thing in taskmanager?

Or am I being stupid now... I don't know about these things

That didn't work either, it either ran too fast or too slow with 1 processor.

Try "Windows 98" mode instead of 95.

There's windows NT 4.0 (Service pack 5) and then 2000 which also runs too fast.

Meh.. well that with windows 3.1 was a joke lol..

Anyway... does your processor use features such as speed-step (intel) or cool'n quiet (AMD)?

why not run it in your original mode, and edit DeusEx.ini I don't have mine up at the moment, but you should be able to modify the game speed.

it fixes multi-core issues for old games
originally written for Thief, works for Deus Ex as well
