Deus Ex Alpha

for people that do not have the game of the year edition(not 100% sure) when they install the game+patch when they try joining a server it says server is running difrent version of DeusExDeco. is there a way someone can host it so its downloadable? that might be the reason why we arnt getting allot of new guys in the community

i get a very similar problem except its with the map cathedral and what i find helps is if you can find the file that is the problem, get one of your frends who has the original DX to give you the file thats causing the problem

well i copied the file on to a disk so when ever i need to reinstall dx i just copy and paste

I have That Problem. I have Only Ever Played Cathedral Once or a few times.

ahhh...but i was smart i went and deleted my copy of cathdral and downloaded a new version...now it works fine.....all that work for a gay map....im dissapointed

The DeusExDeco mismatch msg appearing when trying to connect to fully updated server is due to the fact that players are using the OEM version of Deus Ex (packaged with Creative Audigy Soundcard for some graphic board for example).

What to do? First off, (and you most likely have done this.) IF YOU HAVE installed the regular 1.112FM update already (thinking thats the correct way to update) then you need to uninstall your game and install it again (I recommend delete the "DeusEx" sub-folder from your HD after the uninstallation is complete before installing the game again.

Then download this PATCH (Pick closest mirror to you and download) and install the patch onto your game.

Everything should be then fine and dandy. (NOTE ^ Above patching instruction is for OEM Deus Ex game version only | Other version of DX does not pertain to this.)

I'm not quite sure what this is about, but if you can tell me what version your DX copy is originally (version number prior to updating), maybe we can troubleshoot this out for future reference.

I actually have the exact same problem, requesting someone to bother sending me their entire system folder (without .ini and third party mods.) to me because I refuse to reinstall.

What the fuck would be the point? You'd still be downloading 700mb of pure shit when you could download the setup and that's only 400...

Or 50mb that fixed the problem last night.
