DX Slomo

I came across a facinating incident few days ago. I left some laggy aug server to gm. There my view was absolutely messed up. Tried fov settings tried behind view but nothing worked. It seemed as weird scoped kill effect but with messed up fov.

Then i restarted dx and went to gm. I discovered someone had put slow motion on. Had to be at least 0.4 or so. I asked about it but recived no reply. Then after seeing how damn well everybody seemed to be shooting considering the slow game I left to find a decent game. But to my surprise the slomo effect was in every server I went to. Yer main menu recived no such fps lag.
Weird thing was that I saw everybody move in slomo. It wasnt just me with sudden fps lag. Any idea how and why it happened?

Random, I have this problem 1 on the 3 times that I start Deus Ex, everything looks slow, but actually, you're the only one moving slower.
It's a huge disadvantage in battle, indeed, but it's also a great training ;).
How to solve: Make sure you don't have other programme's running actively, so let your Deus Ex take the CPU for itself, so no MSN, no internet explorer or what so ever.

This always works for me.

sorry for late reply. Smookie and derek are helpful as always .

I am pretty sure I didnt have any other programs running. I run windows xp with 128 ram. Ive played dx online on xp for over year and a half and never had the problem.. Guess keeping processes minimum will fix it. Ty.

Trying to help out the neighborhood.

When this happens again, if it happens again, send a demorec or an sshot.

I can get you 500 demo's of me being in slomo. I even have different stages, one slomo is only 5% slower, the other 60% And sometimes I'm in some weird stage that I can shoot faster then the rest.

I like that shooting faster part XD. I remember from CG boards some time ago that some dude there couldnt play dx after upgrading machine or reinstall. The game was too fast.

Well, the shooting faster is also irritating, if you walk, you walk faster, like 3 steps in normally 2 steps, BUT you get thrown back 1 step, so it's hard to coordinate.

I think I know what you're talking about. Before I quit, I experienced this slomo in various types, mostly in UK and other foreign countries. Some dude made a flamethrower shoot rockets, it got so laggy but it ended, then we all walked slomo and shot 4x as fast.
