Same here. Also never heard of a disc blowing up in a cd drive. Manufacturer accidently put in a wrong laser for the drive? lmao

I got the original dx and thief 2 somewhere, ion storm and looking glass are kings :D

I have DX GOTY and Thief 1 and 2 originals as well as a System Shock 2 original.

Heh. Happened to me too. If it wasn't for good ol' Mastaninja sending me the non-GOTY DeusEx.exe, I'd have been royally screwed.
