Deus Ex Alpha

I just downloaded it and tried to play DXMP but it wouldn't load the game. I was under the impression this was a freestanding copy of DXMP. Do I need to have the original copy of the game in order to play? or is there something in the files I need to alter? Thanks in advance.

I got it to work, but I can't figure out why it wasn't before. Ah well, no matter now. I think I am experiencing the same problem Seraphiel brought up though
