Single player won't... play!

Postby Bezza » Sat Sep 23, 06 7:36 pm

Ok, I launch up DX and click Single Player and chose difficulty and skills etc. then i press Start game button and the video comes up, BUT instead of the intro starting how it should it starts off with Walton Simons saying something he shouldn't... (Can't remember exactly what he says but it's about Maggie Chow) i left click/press esc to exit the video to continue to the game and it comes up with the game menu! (Where it says Settings and Single Player etc.)

Anyone know how to fix this? i would re-install but I lost the disk.

Help me or i ban. Please

Lol, what does Walton say?

And attach here your DeusEx.log file from DeusEx/System AFTER an attempt of starting single player (just do what you described, then close the game).

MegaUpload ftw.
It has a demorec and what i think is the log file
It was called DeusEx and it was a Notepad... and it wasn't the .ini

Also Walton says nothing after what is recorded, neither does Pagey Boy.

Hell, attach it to a post. I can't download from MegaUpload because
All download slots (100) assigned to your country (Russian Federation) are in use.

Err, do "Killall BobPage", that'll always kill the intro for me, then skip to the game. Worth a try.

I killed both Walton Simons and Bob and the intro carried on.

If your intro won't load, load the first map using the DX map loader Enclosed.

I'm sorry to say that the DxLoader does not allow you to choose your starting skills, but thats really your only choice at the moment as you do not have your DX game disk.

If you want to do it really bad...

it's quite annoying to install it proper, but that's the only way i can think of now.

If the stuff explained there doesn't say anything to you... Don't even try it. it's a mod loader, where you can set up skills and such for your mods, you could just use it it to start the first map in the game. But it's pretty hard as you mightve already seen.
