mtl problem solution

Postby Blade » Thu Mar 18, 04 8:49 pm

i know this is a duplicate thread, but some smart mod thought locking my previous topic was the best solution to avoid the spam from a single person... mah
i reopen the topic so that if someone wants to post on this thing he will be able without having to face a locked thread...

i found a solution to mtl not working with non-english deusex, just see www.dxblade.altervista.org in the mtl patch section

before i get annoying answers :
1) daedalus, i know you dont have this problem even though you dont have english dx, but its just luck, ok?
2) i found the solutions thanks to nil and kingj, as specified on the site... im not saying i found it on my own...

however i wanted to get a final solution in mtl2, so i proposed to help if i had the source, but the answer from TRM was "its dead. its all dead". damn...
May the Force be with you...

Don't forget to see my site and to download my maps (and to post feedbacks on the forum!):

Yes would be good if we got a MD5 checker for dx too..I would work on one but my C++ isnt quite up to scratch then this could be included with the new mtl and shipped with it like the downloader

QVALIDATE!! What's the point of inventing anything else?

I tried QValidate - even though I had it installed and joined the game a screen pops up telling me I need to install it.

Also others enter, screen pops up telling them they need it. All the users do to bypass this is disconnect and reconnect and its seems qvalidate cannot handle to rechecking. Hence why I had a few people on my server who didnt have qvalidate, but were still able to play!?!

Umm, I wasnt questioning the fact that the screen pops up, but the fact I had qvalidate installed surely means that I should not get the screen that tells me to download it?? and if it is supposed to check clients and not allow them if they dont have qvalidate (so it can check their packages) then what is the point of letting them be able to stay in the server with possible hacked packages??

And I followed the installation tot teh T

LOL you just deleted your post Dae - the answer doesnt make sense now. Guess I have to delete my post! :D

Uh yeah, i havent got the meaning first time :)

I'll check it. And are you sure you've got client files installed?

+MTL guys could get in touch with ProfessorQ who has made this Qv mod and I'm sure he will give them the source code. If not, Nobody can just hack the package and obtain what we need.

Yes getting intouch with profQ would be a good idea, Im sure he would be willing to help and as u say nobody could get the details from the package - then we just distribute the dll's with new mtl and everyone is anti-cheat :-D well those that use mtl but then we have the other method for those that dont got the dll's :P
