Deus Ex Alpha

Guys, I have a complicated issue! 13 months ago, I let my friend make a copy of the Deus Ex Game of the Year Edition CD. I just checked it now, and don't think it worked out well. It's on CD-R and whenever I click the game doesn't pop-up but it just opens and shows the files. DirectX7, system, music, help, maps, and manual. Could you guys tell me the problem and how to fix it please? I'll greatly appreciate it.

In that map, there's an installer right? Click it.

And if not, create a folder in C: named "Deus Ex" or something, and copy all the files from the CD.

I'm sorry for this incompetance, but can you post screen shots and put heavy detail into this? You wouldn't have to do this if I was smarter, i'm sorry.

To me this sounds like youve not burned an image of the deusex CD, If you burned it as a image otherwise known as an ISO it would autorun and bring the dx installer up.

What you have done is dragged the DX files to cd. Still not a problem, all you do do is go into the cd by right clicking the cd drive in [my computer] and go to explore. Youll now see all files on CD just run the setup.exe

I already saw that with out using explore. And I have setup.int. instead of setup explose, and when I run it, a thingy pops up asking me what program i'd like to use from the web?

And I guess you don't have install.exe there?

I did not install DX for 5 years, however I reinstalled Winblows almost 20 times in that time.

What I want to say is, that you can just drag the cd content into a folder which you can call DeusEx, if you like.

No, and I already made the folder... Nothing's happening!

You need to go to the System folder in the DeusEx folder and double click at DeusEx.exe, then the game will start. In case it doesn't post the DeusEx.log.

How? I don't understand computers very well, I just know internet and Deus Ex. Explain with thorough details please! Also, remember that I didn't install it yet. It's only on my CD.

Open the DeusExSystem folder, in there is a Deus Ex icon that says DeusEx.exe.

Read my first post very well please. What program should I actually use? Paint, wordart, acrobat?

What're you trying to open? I would've thought if it was .exe then your PC would recognize it.

Take a picture of the folder with the files. Press your 'Print Scr' button and paste in an image program and save as jpg and upload it here.

I was considering that as an option, but I thought you guys knew what I was talking about. This made me 2 hours to get... Don't you just love Dial-up?

If anybody bought the game recently tell me whre you bought it. I looked in EBgames, gamestop, and targer and still couldn't find it.
