Deus Ex Alpha

I've got a problem with MMCity. I've been playing this afternoon, everything went fine. Then I lagged out. I didn't really care because I had to go for dinner but when I came back things didn't work out as I planned.
I couldn't join the server anymore and it wasn't full. It just kept saying Connecting. I guess Kuchcik is playing on it now too but my Xfire just says he's playing Deus Ex, not which server he is on. I used to be able to see the MMCity server in the Xfire server list, but it has disappeared there too.

There's a lot of connection timeouts, maybe about every 15 minutes, the server just crashes..

i got same problem, EXACTLY the same. i been trying for liek 4 hours to get back on

It's also loading the map while it says "Connecting". I have the problem too. Give it a few minutes and it will load.

I've waited over 9 minutes just to get a message "Connection failed"

The port has been changed since around a week ago

[A]lex was hacking/flooding the server.

He is doing this out of jealousy because I finally made a mod, but he got nowhere with he stupid DX:RPG crap.

That's too bad. Your server is *beep* awesome. Is the server up again? Kind of stupid that Alex did this, didn't expect that. Alex seems to be proving himself uncapable of rivalry like DejaVu used to.

Yeah the attacks have stopped, and I will change the coding in the mod, and Dae will help me make a new website registration system when he has time.

Then hopefully it won't be possible to do what he is doing now.

I already told Mainman and would also tell here - Alex wasn't doing that because of jealousy, but due to some kind of depression. From my experience in the Internet communities I know that such things may happen with everyone. Alex has taken a break now and will return to the community in a month or so. He didn't do much serious harm and don't think he would've bothered to find out how, but anyway I'll fix Mainman's mod script to avoid problems with other hackers.

Sorry, it's just when it processes the information, I wish I could do something about it

It's only like 3 seconds lag every 2 minutes, it's livable lol. Enjoy your break Alex!

Btw, if anyone has trouble with MMCity, email me or PM me - I don't think we should be spamming up [A]lpha forums with MMCity technical help lol.

well im guessing the lag us due to the translation between the sql server and dx. could you not have a second setup as the database, then the main computer to do tha actual hosting? Also what specs are the computer? maybe shoul dbe dual core AMD. have one core as host, other as SQL DB.

The MySQL doesn't handle the gameplay, it only does registration. I'm working on reducing the lag, please be patient.

I think I went through this stage when I had been gone for a few months but I sorted myself out and I'm back and wanna do something useful.

Yes lol i connected then I got a warning saying shutting down server...
Then I dis-connected.

Ay cee. We were having a great time too. Lol MJ12 was stuck in the arena and kept saying it was someone else and not to let them out, so that kinder folks like I would go in and let them out. Sucker lol. I knew it was him.

i was in middle of moving the Arena Guard up the ramps

Fixed the connection problems. (People were joining so fast, Nephthys though they were bots! )

Lol i wait ine minitune and it loaded
