Firewall or not, Dedicated servers do not load a local client.

right i don't know much bout logfiles so i looked mainly at the .ini
it looks fine to me except in your server actors/packages section you have this:

GameRenderDevice=None
AudioDevice=Class'Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem'
Console=Class'Engine.Console'
NetworkDevice=Class'IpDrv.TcpNetDriver'
Language=None

none of that needs to be in there
dunno if that helps
if that fails then i will look at other things
good luck!

To be honest, I don't understand your problem

Please, explain more. How do you connect to Telnet, what program do you use, etc.

l use puttytel.exe l put the ip in and port and pressen than if l have the game up un un dedicated
it works like a charm if it is in dedicated mode then it exits puttytel.exe

but l think the problem is that l get a visual on dedicated mode

I can understand "probblen" as "problem", but what's "visul on"?!

My English may not be perfect, but I think he's trying to say that, rather than DX shutting down to a systray icon then running a dedicated server, it opens a local client (as in non-dedicated mode).

Thanks, but what's with Telnet then?

This problem appeared because you either didn't install the game properly (just moved files) or you have more than one Deus Ex game installed. Anyway, you can try starting the server via a small batch program (download below). Extract it to DeusEx/System and launch from there.

wen l click on server.bat it starts a visual server like before
