Im saying, there are people who use experince as an excuse to argue with people, and generally cover up anything.

Web definition of "Veteran"

* a serviceman who has seen considerable active service; "the veterans laughed at the new recruits"
* a person who has served in the armed forces
* an experienced person who has been through many battles; someone who has given long service
* seasoned: rendered competent through trial and experience; "troops seasoned in combat"; "a seasoned traveler"; "veteran steadiness"; "a veteran officer"

I suppose a person who has played dx since 2000 could be descibed as a veteran of the game ,but i would reserve this title for ppl who made real sacrifices and took real risks with their life to accomplish somthing important.
i believe "Nerd" is a more suiting title for somone who has spent the last 6 years playing the same old video game.....

Exactly my point. What's more, all these nerds are feisty, and if you insult/say something against them, they do not hesitate to remind you of their skill in deus ex, as it makes them seem paramount to others, and because that is the only thing they can do successfully in life; play computer games.

Bottom line is, skill means jackshit, attitude is everything.

Though I do agree with you to a certain extent, I think you miss one thing... the fact that this forum is in fact a Deus Ex forum as [A] is a clan in Deus Ex. Though attitude is important, theres no reason to say skill means nothing...

No, not in that sense; I meant that people cannot discriminate against or think themselves paramount to those with less skill.

A lot of skilled players do have a good attitude, but some morons on these forums don't; I don't want to name names, but I think we all know who I mean when I quote "0-augz suckx and U is DA GAY I WILL MAKE A MasterS3rv3r and BAN ALL DA 0-AUG FAGZ!!"

Judge by personality, not by skill in a computer game.

i think there should be sum respect showen towards vets as they have been around. if they were ass holes then they should be ignored nd no 1 should talk to them.

but wa about the ppl who are playing a year or 2 that are good nd brag about it?
