Actually you can.

X360 came out earlier than PS3, and PS3 came out sometime near turkey day.

X360 will fade out, and PS3 will become popular. By that time, Micro will make a new Xbox 360, and it will be around when the PS3 is the most popular. The new X360 will fall when a new PS4 comes out later.

It's the drastic cycle, and Microsoft entered too early.

Actually, I say PS3 is already fading...
400 dollars loss per system YES!!!, even if Microsoft are gaining $40 per system they must be doing something right eh?, and money loss isn't exactly a big deal for the giants.

Talks have been said that they're replacing that guy who came up with the PS3 shit, and replacing him with someone who will not be interested in the PS3. Becoming video game software distributors rather than hardware.

The PS3 is HD compatible only, how many people do you think can afford to blow £800+ on a HD telly and then another £600+ quid on a PS3 and a couple of games?

Its a waste of money imo. If the price drops and I magically grow a HD TV then I might get a PS3, but so far none of the games interest me either.

Why is every console manufacturer HD-Mad now? No-one I know can be assed to spend >£800 on a huge TV, just to play PS3/XBOX-360 on...

360 came out a year before, which got alot of consoles sold, it got better and better games as game devs got more to grips with it. A year later PS3 comes out super over priced, over hyped and as of now it's performing under the 360 (when it was meant to leave it in the dust?). I would say it's like the Xbox vs PS2, but the Xbox was obviously way more powerful than the PS2, whereas the PS3 isn't. And as James said, I also read that there are talks of them doing a Sega and making only games, whether it's true or not I don't know, but it seems highly likely going by how much money they've lost and how long it's going to take them to make it back.

I think she means HD only as in it comes with a mandatory Blueray drive, which costs a bomb and how many people really have a giant 1080p HDTV in their bedroom to use this £250(?) disc drive.

If Sony puts the same amount of effort into their systems as Microsoft does, X360 will fade out.

Sure, PS3 is more powerful, and sure it does have better graphics, and it does have more memory......but have you seen the release titles?! They suck! All except RE5 of course \,,/ (^_^) \,,/.

Who cares if Blu-Ray holds more memory? It costs much more to manufacture.

Have YOU seen the games? They don't look as good at all. Sure the PS3 specs are more than the 360's on paper, but that's as far as it goes.

What does a console do? Play games. The whole point of the console is the games. Without the games all you have is....junk. PS3 has been diverted from the fact that consoles are meant to play games, not play DVD's on Blu-ray (£80 a game may I just say) or listen to music. All those features are nice but without decent games it's a waste of a lot of money.

Metal Gear has been known for about 15 years, Halo for 5!
There are 8 Metal Gear games (quickly counting, not bothered if I missed any and if you do, thanks for surporting my poiint.) There are only 2 Halo games atm, 2 more coming out.
Yet both games are insanely popular however MGS is a cult icon and Halo isn't there just yet.

However this is not comparing the types of games and which one is better, I am interested in the amount of sales MGS4 will get compared to Halo 3.
That will be a decider to see whos interested in what most.
