I have thought about this for the B2S website actually, and thought this would be very usefull.

I guess it would be a lot more easier for you ;)

It is, trust me lol. Wouldn't mind a B2S Feed either. It's helpful for me as I usually visit loads of websites but forget most of 'em, but if the site has an RSS Feed I generally remember them and I only have to look up at my toolbar and remember them.

Not that I forget about this site lol. Obviously.

Surv I could make an RSS feed for B2S website if you want, along with the new site.

It isn't an exec type command, so it can't be bound to a keyboard key.

Can I suggest an additional rule?

Considering how technical/editing topics are usually treated, Generic Tech topic gone wrong, can we add an additional rule along the lines of;

"Anyone who posts in the technical/editing forums which is not of benefit or relevance will be treated as spam/flame and therefore gets a warning"

So for example

------------------------

Someone who says "Hi I need X/Y/Z?"

And then someone else says "LOL GOOD LUCK"

That person would then get a warning

-----------------------

Someone who says "Hi how can I do this?"

Then someone says "I'm not completely sure, but check out Tack's website [insert tacks url here]

Not wholly beneficial, but at least is trying to be helpful

-----------------------

Someone who says "Can't get my server up"

Then someone says "I don't know myself, but Dae would know"

Trying to help yes, posting something useful no, this person would be on the border and if constantly posting things like this would find himself getting warned sooner or later for not having much relevant to say

Personally, I like the idea. Why bother posting in that forum if you're not trying to help/give feedback?

That is pathetic IMO, because when someone tells me to go and ask a certain person, it makes life much easyer.

Then use the most underrated system on most forums: The PM system. It's there to use, so why not use it?

I personally don't like to solve problems via private messages when it could be done publically. The idea of forums such as "tech issues", "editing issues" etc, is to help not only the person who asked first, but also other people who will face the same problem in the future.

My original point was that yes it says "This person knows" but why not just wait for that person to post instead of stating the obvious?

You could just use the same effort to PM the person who knows and ask them to look at the topic, and like Dae said, address it publicly so that others could see a solution

Suggestion, real: Let us edit posts no matter how old they are. Seriously, are you afraid of something? It's only convinent that on OP or anyone else can edit their post when they get updated info or someone points at their mistake.

Suggestion, that will never come to be: Replace "General Spam" with something like "OIFY" (with no rules about posting at all; no rules about moderation either; everything looks as if you're on acid; ppl spamming, flaming, posting horrible shit, etc.)

I don't like the second suggestion, spam is spam but some moderation needs to be in order. Spam doesn't mean insult the living fuck out of someone, is means make a general short pointless annoying message.

As for the real one, what's it make them scared of? How could they be scared? You could just make another post, do you know how retarded it'd be to make it a rule that even after 3 hours you couldn't double post?

Once, when there was no such restriction, several guys, before leaving the forum forever, replaced all content of their 200 or so posts with hyphens. It must've been pretty tiresome job, but they managed it somehow and some threads looked curtailed after that.

I set up the restriction having that case in mind. But as you can notice, we never warn for double-posting after it's not possible to edit the initial message.

As for the second suggestion, we can't do because we host in Europe and don't want any problems with our hoster. Therefore the content has to be moderated everywhere.
