I went to see Dragonball Evolution a few days ago, a real-life version of the cartoon.
Basically, the story was a fusion (Ha!) of half of the first 2 story arcs of Dragonball (the original Dragonball, not Dragonball Z). Goku trains with his Grandpa, who then dies. He then meets up with some techno-whizz girl (Bulma), who nearly kills him thinking that his Dragonball is hers, they then look for Roshi, he teaches Goku the Kamehameha technique.
They search for more Dragonballs, get sabotagued by someone dressed up exactly the same as one of their group, big fight ensues later, Goku turns into a giant ape, turns back, defeats main villan, happy days.
And the ending shows the posibility for a sequel. so yeah.
In my opinion, it's not the best film ever, but I didn't really mind since I wasn't paying for it. The film isn't really faithful to the series, as Goku is actually a little kid in the TV show, yet is a hormonal teenager on-screen. And he lacks a tail. And his reason for being sent to Earth is wrong.
It'd probably be better if I never watched the original TV shows.
But I saw some people I knew vaguely from school, so it was alright. We joined together in jeering at the adverts, as is mostly normal for us to do.
I ended up wasting the money I had for food on playing House of the Dead 3 in the foyer of the cinema, but Colin ended up paying for all the food anyway.
( I beat the level 2 boss, but it killed me at the same time. So I lost and ran out of money. )
too long; didn't read - Good day, meh film.
