Everytime I hear about the game it gets redeemed a lot more, the story is being fleshed out.

In a nut shell:

As you guess L4D1 is in Pennslyvania
Pennlyvania was ground zero
L4D1 was intended by Valve to be a massive confusion to spark a lot of questions and raising no answers on the origin of the virus, kind of like our favorite viruses in the past years such as SARS, Mad Cow Disease, Bird and Swine flu
Virus migrates slowly to the south
L4D2 starts when the cause for zombies just hit Savannah, zombies are scarce. CEDA will be shown trying to stop the infection from spreading faster
L4D2 cast meet eachother, and make their way to New Orleans (which has been hit heavy, like the city in No Mercy)
Will the origin of the virus be confirmed: No.

But there was an answer to Mad cow, wasn't there?

Cue "working on L4D 3 even before the sequel is released"....

I'd never support L4D ever again if that happens.

Gamespy wrote:It sounds like such a small thing, but the addition of a level-specific common infected, referred to as "common-uncommons" internally, completely alters the way a level like Swamp or Parish plays. In Swamp the level-specific zombies are mud men: zombies who run on all fours incredibly quickly, making them hard to detect, and especially so when they're in a couple feet of water. This resulted in our team having to be hyper-vigilant when wandering through the bayou, watching the water the way that Han Solo and company did when facing the Dianoga in the Death Star trash compactor. During the not-so-quiet moments, like when we were trying to protect a teammate who'd been covered in Boomer bile, these little zombies could come out of nowhere, providing ample distraction for other infected to close the gaps on our defensive positions. The Parish campaign also featured a level-specific zombie in the form of biohazard suit infected, whose invulnerability to fire created some tough situations when we were relying on molotovs to provide safety.

Beyond the common infected and hero infected from the original L4D, the time I spend with L4D2 also allowed me to check out the effects of the newly revealed Spitter infected. The Spitter -- whose graphic was still being worked on when I played -- can lob a ranged attack into a group of survivors, creating an area where survivors take damage so long as they are within it. No, the Spitter's shot won't do a ton of damage all at once, but it can hurt you badly after a few seconds spent in its area of effect, and can easily make a team panic and split up when it hits in the middle of a fight. Imagine you're in a room with your team and a Spitter lobs the shot through the window, forcing your team to abandon the position. Now imagine that as you all abandon this spot that some of you split off from one another -- perhaps exiting out of the room from two different sides -- leaving yourself open to attack. I'm sure you get the idea of how this can be bad for a team and potentially rewarding in multiplayer.

New replacement for pills: Adrenaline. It allows you to melee without melee fatigue effecting you for an indetermined amount of time. In other news, melee fatigue confirmed for campaign.

Ammo pack, replacement for medkit. Does as it sounds, uses a medkit spot and allows you to bust it open when you're low on ammo and refill all your ammo. Sounds fucking useless. God damn it.

(yes pills and med kits are still here)

My L4D tends to randomly shut down when playing single player. What might be wrong?

What pisses me off about this article is the prick is racist in thinking the game is racist.

So it's okay for violence to be had against other races but African-American people? Fucking hypocritical bastard. Oh and are they also immune to some sort of zombie-like infection?

Looks like a troll group.

Everything is subjective and, if it is true to it's purpose, is a pathetic excuse for a group which is just ripping off the original L4D2 boycott group. I'd love to see one of those morons call a katana "girly" to someone who knows how to use it. Or don't they have the balls?

I will agree though, that games need less Japanese and/or Chinese-like melee weaponry in them. It's far too common yes, but this does not warrant the creation of some boycott group that looks like they're trolling (which I sincerely hope they are). Left 4 Dead 2 isn't the only game with katanas and the like in it.

What annoys me the most is there is far worse things to make a bloody boycott group over but these people think katanas in L4D2 will mean the end of the world? Or that even L4D2 will (directed at the L4D2 Boycott Group)? There's been worse game concepts than L4D2 out there, and the only reason this one is bad (in my opinion) is because Valve COULD be updating L4D2, but I do realise they need to make a living too.

But hey, no one blames EA or Activision for doing it (at least not me since I actually expect it). If it's so concerning and so high on your List of Priorities don't buy the game, how hard is that?

Still see no irony? No contradiction? No hypocrisy at all?

Bah, whatever. Are they adding ANY other melee weapons apart from katanas (and knives, I assume) to L4D2?

1 sentence is not hypocrisy at all and I fail to find hypocrisy in those posts because they both hate furries and I still hate furries so I don't see the irony.

Yes of course, police fireaxes, chainsaws and cricket bats which are a lot more common than a katana.

You complain about me complaining when you complain yourself. This applies to anyone who has ever complained about someone complaining, such as myself.

I think I'll go with the chainsaw. I like chainsaws.

Ammo packs first sounded pants on head retarded to me.

Then, I figured since the director can now change paths maybe it can fuck with ammo points, or the harder routes have stretches where you NEED to have designated shooters and healers because it is very likely you'll run out of ammo.
