Can this be done for new vision textures somehow?? For those of you who understand textures and renderers 'n' shit, there's plenty of info here: http://kentie.net/article/d3d10drv/page2.htm

So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
because it would be a bigass download? not to mention the mismatches.. to remove mismatches you have to retexture the old maps and rename the new texture file? :$

I tried web downloads on my server a few years ago, it works well if they have Nephthys naturally, but enough people don't and will have to manually download.
No they shouldn't. Nephthys was originally introduced to DX for servers, not clients. Of course it serves clients as well, but the main reason we wanted Nephthys was due to servers being attacked.
You can try looking into how enhanced textures work with the renderer and use New Vision resources where applicable through that method.
Should be able to cover lot of MP textures like that, at least in theory. Some textures likely have to be adjusted, but with NV one should still be able to avoid re-texing from scratch.
Just a thought, and not implying that NV magically covers absolutely all textures in DXMP.

Not quite, but I got trolled by spambot. I stand by my once-made statement that some of these spambots appear smarter than some humans. I got a little suspicious when he copied part of my sentence from that UFO thread, but didn't check if this here was copy-paste as well
In any case, maybe someone finds the thought useful.
