At the moment, I'm 99%- sure about these two:

Case: Case CoolerMaster HAF 932
Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T HDT55TFBGRBOX

Questions

- Which of the following 3 PSU's is the best for my future configuration?
Corsair HX750W OR Corsair TX750W OR Antec TruePower New TP-750 750W

- Is the ASUS Crosshair IV Formula any good? (From what I've heard, it has a good onboard sound card)
- Current alternatives are: M4A89TD Pro/USB3, M4A89GTD Pro/USB3

- Is the G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL) any good?

Storage devices

- Does a OCZ Agility 2 OCZSSD2-2AGTE60G (SSD, SATA2, 60GB) provide a noticeable difference in the overall PC performance if it was the system drive (load times etc.)?

- Does a WD VelociRaptor WD6000HLHX (600GB, 10000 RPM, SATA3) provide a noticeable difference in the performance of videogames and software if I used it as a drive for programs, games, etc. (would games load faster, would the instruments for my music projects load faster)?

- Would partitioning the latter drive cause noticeable performance drops of any kind (as in if I made separate partitions for videogames, for programs, for music-editing to organize better)?

- Also, the SSD being SATA2, would the VelociRaptor (SATA3) perform better as a system drive?

Thanks.

Not much difference, two of them are modular, one of them isn't. Personal preference.

I'd go with the M4A89GTD Pro/USB3, it's a hell lot cheaper.

The first two have AMD 890FX chipsets. The main advantage this chipsets gives, is, when using 2 graphics cards, it can run both on x16, instead of, with the AMD 890GX chipset (M4A89GTD Pro/USB3), running both on x8 (Thus sharing the same x16). Will you be running a dual card setup? If you want better audio, you can use the money you save (Price difference between the Crosshair IV Formula and M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 is ~60-65 here) on a soundcard.

I guess it's good.

The SSD would make your noticeable PC faster, when it comes to loading the OS.
Yes, the 10k RPM disk would also increase loading times, but can't say how much you will notice it.

I don't know about the partitioning question.
As for the SATA2 (SATA-300) and SATA3 (SATA-600) stuff.
No. I read a review where they tested 2 disks, one SATA2 and one SATA3, both 7.2k RPM I believe. They tested almost the same, the SATA3 only had a slight increase of speed, but not always, sometimes SATA2 performed better.

It won't give you a noticeable performance drop (definitely not an increase though) but there is no point to partitioning, other than sorting stuff in a way that suits your mind.

What I did was purchase a 500gb ext. HDD and made about 4 folders.

-Games
-Music
-I can't remember
-Something else I can't remember.

Folders were created so you don't have to hassle through partitions ;)

This is also good when you often download torrents. I noticed torrents were slowing down my system, and it was no longer an issue when I bought a separate hdd for that.

Yeah the same, I have a small HD dedicated to incomplete torrents and video capturing. When they're done I move them to my storage external.

The only thing I use my default C:\ Drive for.. [I might get a 32Gb Solid state just for my OS  ]

-Processing Operating system files, reg, .dll, etc.

That way My OS runs smooth all the time.

Remember, there's only 1 (One) Laser per HDD. Giving 1 (One) laser 2 things to do decreases the performance.

So... I put my USB ports to work for everything else. (Not going to fry)

I don't think you'll notice the speed change in the Velociraptor or the SSD, unless you want to individually count the seconds it takes you to load up your OS or programs, which is slightly ~2-3 seconds or so faster than a normal HD. Besides they're overpriced like fuck lol
