Shriek?, as in scream?, if so yeah.
Doesn't matter if a band shrieks or scream really, most emo bands do as well.

But emo rock really do have crappy out of key singing, which is found in SSTB.

The lyrics...I'd say Neverender, Devil in New Jersey, Junesong Provision are pretty emo in lyrics!, the rest = naah.

edit: When I first heard them, I also remember saying "Haha, these are emo?, but they're good and have some talent!"

This is when I heard Welcome Home.

They're more progressive-rock than anything tbh, similer to Rush alot.

yeah, c&c have more of a rush sound rather than an emo sound. i think c&c are a hellof a lot better than a lot of new bands
