I agree with you on this. For me FFVII has to be the greatest RPG ever.
It's got an awesome story and the Limit breaks are great. Also the materia system is something that no other RPG has and it really adds to the creative side of the game

For me, this game was EXCEEDINGLY boring and kinda repetitious, it got very tedious after a few hours, as do most RPGs, i have only really liked one RPG and that was FFVIII, i dont play games like that anymore though because i have succumbed to games like Halo, Splinter Cell and the like...

GUSTERTOTES REVIEWS:

FF7 = The best one, just so cool and dark, best storyline, best limit break system, best magic usiage system (materia) CID PWNS ALL. 10/10
FF8 = The most annoying game ever with the constant journeys to Laguna world, just as you got to the next cool bit, Laguna comes along and ruins it. It did have coolness, such as the FMV where Balamb and Galbadia crash, and the best ifrit design, and boost was sweet. And the storyline was cool, and the lunar cry...actually FF8 was quite good, storyline-wise. Magic suked tho, and the skill learnige was elementary. 8/10
FF9 = Packed full with cool side quests, so cool, it ended stupidly with the clone bit, but otherwise, the overdrive-ness was cool. 8/10
FF10 = Moderate magic system, coooooool storyline, coooooool summons, Anima pwns all. Cool storyline twist, definatly the best storyline. 9/10
FF10-2 = Has to be THE worst piece of dog piles RPG ever! I mean, its just a load of girls running around in skimpy outfits (only good for the perverts among us), crud dress sphere system, crud storyline that actaully progresses really badly with the random finding of clues that lead luckily onto other things. I havnt actually finshed it coz i was so bored, i mean, how can u hav NO summons and NO limit breaks? Much disapointment. 3/10. But the graphics own.

And thats it, that wasted the 15 minutes before my food was ready...excellent...

Final Fantasy: Shite. Really. NEVER play it.

Final Fantasy II: Pretty good, got into it but never finished.

Final Fantasy III: Played it years ago so can't remember lol

Final Fantasy IV: Same as above

Final Fantasy VII: Amazing game. First FF I played. Great improvement graphics-wise, and the soundtrack is still a classic. Especially the world map theme and Aeris' theme. The characters are great, levelling is fun etc. Can't wait for the movie. I wish they would re-create it for the PS2 though, exactly the same story but FFX graphics and proper orchestral music instead of midi-like-ness.

Final Fantasy VIII: I love Selphie! Shes so amazing and fun, my hair used to be just like hers. Another great story, but I hated the fact that you couldn't skip the GF summons.. Adore the soundtrack. Finished it a good 30+ times.

Final Fantasy IX: Great dissapointment. Good storyline but why does Kuja wear a thong? Who the hell is Necron and why did he randomly appear? Battles were patheticly slow, but luckily soundtrack is ok.

Final Fantasy X: Great potential but too linear. If they had invented a world map it'd be amazing but meh... I love the summons though, battle-wise its great with the sphere grids. Soundtrack is good.

Final Fantasy X-2: Really girlie, but you can tell it was created for blokes because of the incredibly nakedness, especially Rikku. For God's sake, leave something to the imagination. The storyline was weak and random, but the soundtrack was cool. The 100% ending is good though. Too much travelling back & forth and Brother is such a dick.

Final Fantasy XI: Not played it yet but looks quite fun. Doesn't look amazing and I bet all the decent names will have been taken (look out for Chococat26987609526).

Final Fantasy XII: Looks so cool! Nice to see they've finally re-introduced the Viera race. The wierd thing is that all the characters (except Fran) look exactly the same... teenage american blondes..

Final Fantasy Tactics: Thats alright. Not great, but summat to do on the train etc.
