My friend in the UK is an avid XBOX user.
He came to my house and watched me map, surf a DX forum and play DX on three different servers, DXMS, GODZ and [A]Nobody.
He was really impressed with DX, but not DX players.

He could not believe (unlike Xbox)

1. There is no flaming zone (LOBBY), flaming is done in forums and servers.
2. There is no kicking of anyone verbally abusing in a server.
3. That some servers lag so much
4. That when it doesnt lag, the quality is so good for such an old game.
5. That you are able to communicate with the enemy team
6. That accusation is flying left and right without proof in servers, even from Admins.
7. there is no kicking for a teamkill and no losing of your score
8. There is no kicking of spwnkillers and no servers which are spwnkill servers...

Suggestion, leading clans like [A] rethink the DX playing format.

If we are ever to attract new players and compete with newer gaming systems and games, it needs to be less stressful and more condusive to a good game, with skill and honour...

what did u do to me? let me explain you. you support GODZ server. for you, GODZ server is keeping DXMP alive. but what GODZ server is actually doing is taking 90% of newbs and giving them wrong impression about dxmp. giving them impression of shitty, lame, nonskilled, laggy and unbalanced game. that means that 80% of possible aug players never come to play dxmp so far to even see augged servers, cos they see that the game is disgusting, by joining GODZ server. less auggers affect me and whole augging part of community directly, since we have to face empty servers. so, indirectly, you did harm me.

you said on your own, that your friend was wondering about lag. lag by itself isnt part of dxmp. a good hoster is able to manage the server that way it wont lag. sadly, nochanc isnt able to do it. he still hosts shitty maps, even tho his connection is not so good to hold downloaders. plus, his performance with 12+ is everything but good. if you dont want lag, then check out my servers. there wont be a single bit of lag within 20min of map round and 10 ppl can download maps, it still wont affect ping in game.

You do realise not EVERYONE who goes to GODZ server are noobs. I don't play there personally, when I played often I got taught how to play on [EL]'s Server.

Those are some nice points there, and a nice Suggestion. Your friend needs to get out more or at least try a more wider range of consoles. I prefer the PC, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo consoles, lol. Xbox looks incredibly crap to me.

Point 1-2: I'd also rather flame in an actual Forum, sorry... Let me rephrase that, I would rather rant in an actual Forum, not on a gaming console. Kicking someone by verbally abusing them is just plain rude. At least some points of DX are civilised.

Point 3-4: Lag is inevitible in any Multiplayer online game. You'll also experience in LAN connection games. And as for Point 4, well that's pretty obvious. Even old games can be great ones when the lag is low.

Point 5: This amuses me, it means that you can obviously not chat to the opposing team which would usually suck for me as I when I was being taught how to play, my... mentor if you will, played on the opposing team obviously.

Point 7: I personally don't like the idea of being kicked for team-killing someone as occasionly, it can be an accident. Example - When your knifing some guy, someone on your own team can accidently get in the way which can cause you to kill them. Naturally it's there own damn fault though. However, losing 1-2 points for team-killing like BF1942 and BF2 would be good.

Point 8: The problem with this is that on some games like Battlefield there are actual Spawm Points, on DX there is Spawn Points but you don't CHOOSE them and you don't know if someone will spawn in that exact place. Also, spawn-killing in my opinion is a technique, an annoying one but fun on newbies, rofl.

If you want to get a point through, you must be willing to understand all sides of the arguement. Something no one here is willing to do it seems.

The lack of flexability in those who consider them self 'old skool' hurts DX more then any other factor, period.
(More then any modded server, haxing noob, and any badly run popular server.)
