I'll sum up mah views. Feel free to disagree.

As far as online content goes, I understand why people like the Live! service, it offers great simplicity and gives you a range of games to play on, however it has it's down falls, which also happen to be the Playstation's up sides.

It took a new generation of consoles for Microsoft to figure out console gamers would want to play the same game with their PC pals. The X-box 360 allows this (See; FFXI), however the PS2 allowed this from the start.
(Over all I prefer the PC for online play. But I use a PS2 style controller in FFXI.)

Games, well they're a matter of choice, and it's the main reason I choose the Playstation brand. It simply has games that cater to my taste, like the .Hack// series, FF's(der), Shadow Hearts, GT3/4, GTA's, Front Mission's, Amoured Core's, Harvest Moon's, etc.(Really looking forward to the Gundam game, MECH'S! WOO!)

I love a good bash around as much as the next bloke, but after a full day of FPS', I'm not too keen to play them for a few days. In contrast, I can spend days playing RPG's.

Hardware is also a matter of choice. In this area I find the Sony solution much more to my likeing. I also like the fact that the chip required innovation and a new look at a common problem. The X-box 360, in my view, is exactly like the X-box; a Shuttle in a pretty case. There is PC hardware in there, Microsoft didn't have to innovate at all, they just took the brute force route. The Cell (Sony/IBM/Toshiba project) is a more elegent design that requires less power to match the 360, which again I find more appealing. Basically the same reason I'll always reccomend AMD's vs Intel's.

I'm an extremely loyal customer, but only if it goes both ways. The Playstation developers, both software and hardware, havent let me down yet, and I doubt they really could.
