You missunderstand.

The only real reason for some one like my self to hack an X-box 360, would be to use it as a server. This was done by many, many people with the X-box. However the 360 is not suited to hosting, as it eats FAR too much power and it's support would be very limited.

The fact the Cell will be featured in a range of servers, Linux at that, kind of defeats the purpose of hacking any console in my eyes, 360 or not, as any goal achived by hacking the console, could be done with much more ease by simply buying a server, lol.

Well, if they're gonna make it, I would buy it instead of buying additional attachmentsl like the cooler...

Because X360 right now is around 400 ~ 500 dollars, and a cooler is around 150 ~ 240 dollars, so think about it; Maybe sometime in november or october, they release the X540 or something, not as a major console, but just an Xbox 360 with a cooler + much more (like the PSX, but backwards compatibility got erased due to thin-ness).

Oh right the cooler system lol I highly doubt they will, most of the overheating has been sorted out now and on some consoles the overheating was to do with some gel not covering where it should be [or something like that]. There were also rumours of them releasing a new updated 360 with a built in HD-DVD drive but that was quickly dismissed when the source was Samsung or Toshiba and someone asked if they would become standard in the 360 console, they said something like "I can imagine that they are planning it for later on this year", but it was just them speculating, because Microsoft said that they won't be making any upgraded 360's for sale. Only way to keep it from overheating is stop putting your duvet over it lol The console would have melted if they kept the power box thing in the console instead of on the lead lmao

No they were going to make replacement HD-DVD drives you could replace your current one with,cause i red it in X360 weekly,in about november or sooner they're gonna start selling HD-DVD drives for you to use in your X360,no the entire console with it,just the drive i think.

It's a key selling point of the Cell to server environments.

The 360 is a massive power hog though, and no where near worth the money to keep it running 24/7.

It's got to do with the sub-systems they need to keep active. The PS2 and the 360 have a good amount to keep active.(If you to save power, switch it off at the back, not just the little power button.) But past that, nothing touches the 360 for powereatingness.

Why don't you have two 7800GTX's in SLI on a $700 motherboard in a $1500 case connected to two 21" LCD monitors? Price is a big driving factor, and a PS2 makes a perfect pressie for a young kid. (With it's very large range of 'kiddy' games and now lower price.)

Sony will continue to support the PS2 for another year or two, as there are games still being developed from it. In 1 or 2 years, when Sony and the public start forgetting about the PS2, as they did the PS1, the PS3 will be a very nice price, and more people will be able to buy it.

What the fuck lmao If you don't understand things don't make comments lol They aren't forcing HD-DVD on people because some people just want a 360 for gaming and don't want to pay an extra $150 for something they won't use. It doesn't need more memory, and they will not bring out newer versions of the console like that, it's not a PC. They do upgrades like that every 5 years.
