Victor Wooten and other greats.

Postby kBo » Mon Jul 24, 06 3:49 am

Anyone here listen to Victor Wooten/The Wooten Brothers Band/Bela Fleck and the Flecktones?

One of the best electric bassists I've ever heard.

Other great bassists (bass guitar and upright):
Les Claypool
Jaco Pastorius
Flea
Stu Hamm
Nate Kizerian
Jeremy Jemmott
James Jamerson
Niels Orsted-Pedersen
Paul Chambers
Charlie Haden
Charles Mingus

As you might be able to tell, I play bass.

I love Timmy C, Geddy Lee and Justin Chancellor.

That's pretty much the extent of my appreciation for bassists.

Ooh, forgot Geddy Lee. Bootsy Collins (P-Funk's bassist) is also pretty incredible.

BAHAHA. Obviously you hard never heard Victor Wooten, the master of double-thumbing (using your thumb like a pick instead of slapping down on the strings, he invented the technique). Look for him on youtube.
