Impossible. I doubt that a half year ago it was even possible to see 70 players online at the same time.

My server is Dual Xeons with a 100mbit connection, 50 ping to all Euro on good connection with a full server, most its had was 13 tbh. The Xeons were being hammered though. DX has great CPU usage for hosting.
a server could handle any amount of players if the CPU RAM and Upload is up to the job.
People moan about high pings in many servers but c'mon im on 8mbit and it costs me £27.99 a month thats hardly beaking the bank is it for anyone really. I mean 512kbps was £20+ not long ago.

Klop, stop lying. It is simply impossible. Deus Ex self cannot even handle it, doesn't matter what kind of computer you have.
~[A]Daedalus~ wrote:server would lag. not to mention dxmp's 100% cpu usage with 10 good players on.
I have hosted 14 players once. And my processor wasn't overloaded... certainly less than 50% 0_o Don't exaggerate.

Agreed and so long as there is people with enough love for the game, it shall not meet its end unless the creators make that decision. I firmly beleive that the community will never abandon the game completely,
there will always be someone to carry it on, until the creators decide to pull the plug.

Me and controlled just aliased in the last 12 months due to the volume of players calling us cheats and teamkilling us. it made life much easier being alised. shame but that's how it was for us and any other gud players who came away with gud scores. anyways peace and take care in life

Yeah but I like the DX community - everyone knows each other. Imagine if it had 1000 players, that would suck.
