Watched Apocalypto last weekend, was a good film. A fair amount of gore, not a lot, but a fair amount. A Night at the Museum was actually quite good too, I figured it was going to be another kiddie film filled with pointless stupid jokes and silly fall overs, it had plenty of good bits.

Oh it did. There was so much typical action movie wannabe leik moments. Ever seen Man on Fire? It was exactly like that with a different story. It's the same thing, Denzel ends up killing people.

You are the first person i've come across who says Man On Fire wasn't any good. Guess you must have different taste to most other people.

Denzel is mint.

Last King Of Scotland - Good individual performances from Forrest Whitaker and the Scottish guy (his name escapes me) but on the whole quite a boring film. Builds up to a tense finish though.

6/10
Rocky Balboa - Well, what can i say. Dont quote me on this but anyone who doesn't love Rocky doesn't have a heart! I could give you a few spoilers, but i wont. Go and see it. Great entertainment, and the end of a legacy.

8/10
He loses.

Pursuit of Happyness - Based on a true story and fuck me, this guy had to overcome some turmoil. As its based on a true story, it doesnt fluff about with any over-the-top stuff, just an ambitious guy who loves his son, trying to get on in life. I enjoyed it and didnt find it boring, but my gf seemed to think it dragged on a bit. Its supposed to be inspirational and all that, but this film suggests that the pursuit of happiness is merely a quest for riches, and that you're only happy when you get loaded.

how many of you watched some real cyberpunk movies? They absolutely own, but thats my opinion :D.

I had 2 unwatched on my hdd this weekend.

Watched Ultraviolet (2006), and to my surprise, it was absolute crap. So i clicked through half the movie.
Then, being disappointed I moved on to Immortel.
It was simply put the best movie ive seen in many years.
It does have one odd thing to it that might or will bother you, odd use of graphic generated actors, but being already annoyed by Ultraviolet I decided to ignore the fact for now and try and enjoy the movie. ANd I loved it, every piece of it.

Edit:

though nothing beats the likes of Tetsuo I. About to watch Save The Green Planet, once its... done. I read it scores high on weird-shit-o-meter :p

Rocky VI - 9/10 - Class right to the end. Not a 10 simply because he doesn't win.

Pursuit Of Happiness - 10/10 - I loved every fucking last minute of it. Great story, amazing acting by Will Smith.

I dont remember anything bad about it, actually, jay. It wasnt very new film. On the other hand Ive heared not so good things about its sequel so chances are Im gonna skip that. I must admit it didnt leave as strong feeling behind as Immortel, or the movie i watched last night: Cashern.

Cashern had some rather stereotypical japanese anime hero look-alike characters, but it was so balanced it didnt even bother me. The beginning was really weird and it took perhaps 20-30 minutes to get used to, but the rest... was amazing. I had japanese original version with english subs. 100% blue screen btw, like Immortel.

Blood Diamond - Excellent, excellent film...from start to finish it keeps you gripped. DiCaprio is brilliant and deserves his oscar nomination for best actor, but his co-star (Djimon Hounsou) for me was even better.

10/10

Them - Not a bad little foreign film at all. Was pleasantly surprised at how much i enjoyed it. Builds up suspense BRILLIANTLY. A warning though for all those who have a narrow mind, its french speaking with english subtitles.
