Plus when the PS2 came out, it didnt sell too well at all, mainly because they didnt have enough units when the launch came around. I was very lucky to get mine, along with all the other thousands of people that pre-ordered theirs.

It wouldn't have been hard to outsell the Dreamcast it sucked balls. PS2 games owned many DC/Xbox games and some xbox games owned some PS2/DC games. GC was an alrite console, I would take Nintendo over Microsoft anyday

Ok, I worked the midnight launch, was one of the first people to sell a PS3 in the UK (one min past midnight, my first sale was nearly £700).

Have you held the PS3 controllers? They're shit. They weigh nothing coz there's no rumble, and the L2 and R2 buttons are disgusting.

I made £21,000 in my first hour of sales on the midnight launch but I feel sorry for everyone wasting their money tbh. (There's a pic of me on my phone holding £17,000 in cash from the launch haha)

We've had 3 faulties already in one day. And people are already trading the games in less than 24 hours after getting them, saying they're shit. My workmate bought a PS3 (I don't know why), and has brought stuff back because its being faulty and discs aren't reading. Blu-ray keeps fucking up apparently.

Loadsa people are cancelling their deposits simply because the PS2 backwards compatability is next to nothing, and you can't even save PS2 games on it yet without the adaptor which hasn't even been released. Oh, and with the 360, the demand was higher than what we had. With the Wii, we still get around 50 calls a day asking to reserve one, and when we do get them in they sell within the hour. With the PS3, we have like 175 in stock and can't sell them whatsoever. They're taking up my staff room :(

So far, the PS3 sucks hairy sweaty balls.

FinalFantasy and MGS are the only 2 games I am interested in on PS really.. I don't really want to spend.. what is it, £450, on a console for just those 2 series.

Every launch has bad units. The 360 was no different. The difference will be how quickly the faulty units are replaced.

Also, The news that the PS3 will be "less compatible" is something gullible people blindly assume means "only works with 1 or 2 games". In reality it means "It might take a while to get GT4/GTA:SA working, they are rotten bastards to emulate!" The removal of the chip actually means very little in the long term.

James; For a system that is suppose to be in service for 10 years, why the feck would you include a standard that is already at a brick wall? In 5 years time, let's see how much of the Blu-ray space is used. I'd bet a few quid people will start reducing content for the 360 release, or gimping both versions just for the 360's sake.

C:eEnter; The Dreamcast sold -very- badly, worse then the PS2. The PS2 didn't launch at all well in Australia either. PS2 is the most sold console, still out-selling Wii's. Trust me, I was/am there.

Despite all the screaming from 360/wii fans, the PS3 is in a very good position sales wise - enough interest to warrant a shift to 65nm, the stripping of the EE, enough consoles sold to insure Japanese developer support (more important then anything), and still selling enough to keep losses minimal.

The internet is still a limited way of getting feedback from a user base that is many millions of people large. You might also note that a lot of blogs and/or forums recycle the 'news' *coughfudcough*, which makes it seem even more of/like a panicked situation. Anyone remember the stupidity that was the "PS3 broken?", it still makes me giggle the fact fools believed that.

'Normal' people don't go to midnight launches, either.

Sony should send me a PS3 and HDTV for free, for putting up with you lot. James! Get me the paper work!
