If only your logic didn't fail completely.

Who remembers the Gamecube.

I still have one.

So do I.

Doesn't mean I've played it for 2-3 years.

Even the gamecube was more powerful than the PS2.

The Marine shrugged and replied, "Recoil."

Of course, that's elementary logic.

It came out later, thus, they could put better shit in it.

So things looked ever so slightly more awesome.

Power != good games.

The Wii uses no more than 8-bit graphics in its games, because they know that gameplay/fun comes before graphics. Also, if power meant better games - Why do people play old arcade games?

Still, I see all 3 next gen consoles as a way of saying "You need this game because it has better graphics than the version on the other consoles!", when you don't really. Anyone with a copy of Silent Bomber, any Final Fantasy predating 7 (regardless of console the game is for), or even an old copy of Mario/Pokemon, dig it out. Play it. Most of you will (hopefully) see that you don't need flash graphics to enjoy games.

Although, I will admit that some of the next gen games can be quite good.

But gamecube was the cheapest one. The only place it failed slightly was the comparison of DVD's to Mini discs which could only hold 1.8 GB. Nowadays there are Holodiscs which hold, ready for this, 3 TB of memory, that's 25 years of uninterrupted radio transmissions; shove that up your rectum Blu-ray.

Nowadays many people are expecting games to be practically perfect, younger people such as the under 13's will have grown up with far better graphics and therefore prolly have higher demands for games, whereas the 'older' gaming generations grew up around the pixelated 2d characters and the midified soundtrack so we can generally appreciate the quality of a simpler game. I guess it can also depend on the whole experience, as some people want to totally immerse themselves in a game, with surround sound speakers, effective lighting and a huge HD telly.

I'm not talking about the amount of good games, I'm simply talking about the power.

Yeah, I see your point :)

( Myself, I grew up with a 1985 Amstrad CPC 464 for gaming until about age 5, when I got a Sega Master System 2, then at 8, finally got a Playstation :)
I still like to play them all though :D )

you were able to hook up your sega to your cable cords, and you put it on a certain channel. on that channel, you'd get tons of games. they would change up every month.

I personally prefer gameplay over graphics any day (with sounds, it's a different story altogether however). I believe, Nintendo focus more on gameplay than on graphics which is why some may believe that Nintendo consoles have shitty graphics - doesn't stop them from being fun though, does it?

I actually have a lot of old DOS Games on my laptop because (besides from actually working without lag) they are quite fun. And some of the PS3 games are quite fun IMO, though never played the Xbox 360 so I can't really judge on that.

Arcade games are best in small doses.
