Graphics cards ey.

Postby Siva » Wed Dec 19, 07 9:54 pm

Well. an 8800GTX is out of my reach. (Trying to do things without parental support ey.)

A Radeon 3870\\8800GTS is in my reach, but will leave me broke.

However, a 8600 or a 3850 won't leave me broke.

So, I'm looking at the two and I'm still not sure which is better. I've seen the benchmarks and the specs for most games I want to play and they will both run even Crysis fairly well. (Not on Very high but I don't have DX10 so, there you go.)

Any of the above mentioned cards are massive upgrades to my workhorse of a 6600 at the moment.

What to do what to do.

Edit, apparantly a 3850 is on par with the 8800GT. Competition over, 3850 winner, flawless victory etc

I have a 8800GTS, Bioshock on full without any slowdown. Getting Crysis soon, will update with how it looks.

But I've had literally no problems with the card whatsoever fps/quality wise. I play 2142 on full, CSS on full, Bioshock, Age of Empires 3 etc. I'd recommend it.

The Bioshock on full without any slowdown is reassuring. Although my 6600 can do 2142\CSS on full.

Thought you were gonna jam the 3850 into a AGP slot. You sure your psu can handle the new gfx?

550W should do the trick, if not, I'll replace it.
