Installing another OS on the PS3 is like driving a car with your feet.
Home is SecondLife. Which if anything makes it a negative.

You can't just compare raw processing power. If you want to do that then the Cell is unmatched, IN TERMS OF POTENTIAL.

Think of the 8 processors the cell uses.

Now most games these days use TWO. Tops.
PC games are JUST moving into FOUR.

PS3 will have enough processors but the graphical proccessing power of a piece of shit.

Even the PS3 itself doesn't use all of it's processors, why? Because it's not worth it.

And if you were to compare the PS3's GPU to the average GPU of PC's today, it's ALREADY outdated.

Thats a little bit biased there the only reason they may look better on the 360 is because they haven't enabled some options in the display settings
on the PS3. When its done the PS3 pwns the 360.

No, they took off those options in some of those games, want to know why?, the PS3 has problems in those areas because of the lack of power.
Also Rainbow Six Vegas' has the best thing, deleted a LOT of buildings in huge areas and blocked windows with metal sheets rofl.

The only reason they put actually put ANY GPU in is to grab some potential of some special outputs that a GPU can produce (aka. super white function)

Otherwise the Cell would do all the work, why put it in the most cutting edge GPU when you already have the sharpest of cutting edges processors?

There's a reason they don't.

Your precious "superior" PS3 can't handle DMC4 with a MAX resolution of 1024x768. It just scrapes a consistent 30fps. 30fps isn't shit on the PC market, quite a few 360 games run at a consistent 60fps.

Even something as simple as Smackdown VS Raw 2008 looks washed out and has SIGNIFICANT ghosting on the PS3. I noticed when any kind of screen filter was applied the PS3 dropped to an abominable 15fps.

Developers don't just turn off display settings for shits and giggles. They do it because it's required.

I was playing RB6:V on my mates PS3 in co-op the other day, noticing the terrible 20fps every step of the way.

We eventually got to the point where you rescue some hostages in Mexico, and I couldn't believe it, there actually ARE the windows with sheet metal plastered over them. Devs don't put those kinds of things in to enhance immersion. They put them in to do Sony a few favours.

If GPU's weren't needed in today's world then we wouldn't have GPU's.

The Cell has problems WITH a GPU, why the fuck would it work better WITHOUT one.

And yes, RB6:V isn't my favourite game due to all the fucking Brown and terrible art direction in most levels.

However, if the PS3 can't run a shite game, how can it run the best?
