But seriously, it's getting pretty decent reviews at the moment, I have high expectations like everyone else. So far I haven't heard one person actually say they don't like it (unless of course you were never a fan in the first place). Ideally if it stands up to its predecessors it'll be good, but surpassing them is apparently on the cards judging by some...

Honestly, saying a GTA game is overrated is like not liking any main stream medium at all: crime, sex, violence, guns, cars, drama and comedy. With many throwbacks from influences and being very cheeky with obvious stereotypes, these Scottish and North English have pretty much created a game that appeals to everyone to anyone born in the 1930's and above.

This series is great, this series is A.B.A.P, this series makes the SomethingAwful :awesome: face I really need to install onto these forums then remove it after a few months because it'll be too awesome for us all to handle.

Now Final Fantasy, that is the most overrated game in the universe.

Perhaps everyones dream game is going up to citizens and shooting them while a drug dealer is across the street, and the strip club is 2 blocks away, but I don't play many games like that if you get me.

The last GTA game I played properly was the practically 2D one on PS1, were you were a dot being chased by dot police cars.

Also going back over this topic, which I forgot I already posted in, I said:

Which is why I disliked the previous I expect, but if this is true:

Yea there is less runnin round "oh theres a ho.. lets sex here and kill her" or just random killings.. if you do, the Police will be on your ass like never before.

It's not fake as it's been verified by many downloaders as real (On numerous torrent sites).

As for GTA IV being overrated. I am a fan of GTA, but it is overrated.

Every review on the internet gives it a '10' rating, all magazines used it as cover:

Everyone created reviews, add's it to covers and no other publisher (besides Nintendo) publishes games this period.

As I said, GTA IV is a good game, as I am a fan of the GTA series, but it is overrated.

Nintendo's overrated cash cow and Nintendo's amazing innovative game. You still got a Wii?, get SMG.

Ocarina of Time has been on top spot for 10 years, despite a few weeks in second space from Super Mario Galaxy last December.

If a magazine wants to have a review-copy of GTA IV, what do you think they need to do?
GTA knows their game is popular and desired, so they can make demands.

Also said 'no negative comments'... And because there aren't any negative comments, the hype grows bigger and bigger.

Just think, a game review gives a game 10 out of 10? A TEN? Really. That should mean it's perfect, no bugs at all, etcetera. Do you really think it's that good? I'm telling you, this is all a hype because of the demands that Take2 makes. (For those who don't know, Take2 = GTA)

GTA gets 10s because Take2 wants that. And because of the 10s it creates a hype, and now everything is all into GTA IV. Overrated.

They have made a hype out of it. Just like any other publisher tries to. You really think every gaming magazine gets a copy of the game to review?
As said above, Take2 has their demands, and only if you comply with them, you get a copy.

They've only released proper info about the game this month, this has been no giant marketing campaign (see: Super Smash Brothers. Brawl). Microsoft can easily ask for 10s, why didn't they get 10s?

Gaming networks can easily be bribed. Look at GameSpot, they were bribed and a good reviewest lost his job because he wouldn't give the game a decent review (sure, GameSpot and Eidos deny that, but we all know it's true).

Honestly, I'd love to start my own gaming network with a few other gamers and actually review games where we don't take bribes. Even if my company got to the top where companies like IGN and GameSpot stand I still wouldn't accept bribes. I would go into the business giving honest reviews and come out doing the same.

I think a 10/10 rating should be there but no game should ever get it. For a game to get a 10/10 (or 100/100) it'd have to be absolutely fucking perfect. No flaws in it whatsoever. And that's not true. Every game has it's flaws. Even if it only has a "flaw" to 1,000/1,000,000 the flaw is still there and will always be there.

Halo, in my opinion, is one of the most overrated games ever. And it's not even that great a game (again, IMO) but people still overrate it. I think the GTA series are overrated as well but they do deserve a high rating as they are popular by many gamers and I think they're very good games. But I'd never rate GTA a 10/10.
