DXMP_Ratesc

Postby LastEr » Thu May 08, 08 9:37 pm

First thing I wanna do is to say hello to all cause I'm new here :]
Please dont be angry about my bad english cause I'm learning it only for 3 years (rly ;o)

The map I'm making is named DXMP_Ratesc. /Radiotelescope/
Map is outdoor and terrained, there are a few points for sniping.
New tree mesh will be included.

There will be 2 buildings, one for each team spawn.
Map is small (~8-10 players)

At this time, map doesn't have trees, cause i'm working in ued2

Here are the first shots:

Welcome to the forums, LastEr
Enjoy the community :D

This is the most original map I've ever seen. I like the textures and the way you build it, looks far more advanced than Deus Ex. I like the skybox. Also like the way you built those cranes. I also think this will be an inspiration for alot of future maps. It inspired me into something new. Never thought of building it that way, might try something.

Good job.

One thing is bugging me though, you know that grass, its a bit steep, is it walkable?

That's some bloody sweet terrain you got there Laster :D

Most people don't really know how much detail DX can handle and this shows how far you can go and even beyond 8)

Not all the grass is walkable, there are few unwalkable triangles, but not many.
But i think it's realistic ;]

About terrain - you can make much more detailed brushes if you are importing it as .dxf files made f.e. in milkshape (or autocad of course). I'm talking not only about terrain, but buildings, decos and whatever else

I'm only wondering if 200 is too much tree actors. I'll test it on older pc.

Hmm... if this map is so full of quality, how will it end up in a MP game? I mean it would be a great SP map because quality is for SP and performance is for MP?

I don't know if I'm wrong, but it may be really slow. (200 Trees he says)
