Games for kids

One of my good friends asked me to recommend some PC games for his 8 year old granddaughter (she's a Birthday in a few days).

For a moment I thought of Counter Strike (for dickz), but not sure that my friend will remain being my friend after that :P The other thoughts were Harry Potter, Folklore (if it wasn't a PS3 exclusive).

If you were in my place which games would you recommend? His daughter's PC is new, but cheap and not really fast. Thank you.

Run them all in the PC by

ePSXe Emulator.

FAR too adult of a JRPG even if it is based on fables, great game nether the less.

Eternal Sonata is in the same theme yet more suited for older children, still a bit too old for her however. It's on PS3 soon.

Psychonauts received a brilliant Steam update this week, apparently, "Now with new Mac support, 360 controller, and Achievements!!!" and some adjustments to a particular hard level.
