How to play SNES

Postby MrBlackDX » Thu Sep 04, 08 9:23 pm

Single player;

Option 1 - Buy a SNES

Option 2 - Download an emulator, best one is zSNES which you can obtain here

The latest version is 1.51, which is pretty user friendly, but has disabled multiplayer...

You can then illegally obtain ROM's (the games) via searching the net, google the name of the game usually with "...ROM download" at the end to find most of them

The most elusive ones are unheard of games or very popular games

If you are having trouble trying to find Super Mario World for example, then PM me or MSN me and I can help you out

zSNES is pretty easy to use, you will need to select graphics type and resolution via the config > video settings, and you will need to change the controls to your keyboard or gamepad via the config > input settings

I will post more on multiplayer, as zSNES is one of few emulators which allow netplay, although some config is required

Multiplayer;

The version of zSNES me and James use for netplay is version 1.42 which you can download from the above zSNES link

You will also need a program called Hamachi, which can be obtained here

Hamachi is basically a networking tool, like MSN or AIM or whatever, however it tricks your PC into thinking that the Hamachi program is actually your Local Area Network.

This allows you to play LAN games online

You can obtain the Hamachi networking for DXALPHA's connection from James if you PM him and ask nicely

When we are all connected, you then need the exact same ROM which either me or James has, (we can msn transfer it) and then go into zSNES 1.42, select network and internet, and then connect to the hosts Hamachi IP

Voila, multiplayer of SNES, woot!

I used to own a SNES but my mum gave it to some little cow for her 10th birthday like 6 odd years ago.

I should beat that bitch down.

What is wrong with mother's nowadays, I had about 3 mates where their mum's had tried to clean their various consoles and broke them
