Sure Square Enix made it a bit cartoony, sure the voice actors sound like 12 year olds, sure I guessed the plot after 37 seconds of gameplay, sure it's basically FFX meets FFVII with a combat system from DMC and sure its more generic than any game I've every played before.

And yet I still love it. Theres a certain charm about it, maybe it's because it is a generic clone of the FF series is why I like it, maybe its the first JRPG thats actually ever made me game over, maybe its because the script, despite voiced by 12 year olds is heart warming and the story is involving. Even though you can see whats going to happen, you can't help yourself shouting NOOOOOO at the TV screen. Maybe its the amazing soundtrack, Motoi Sakuraba has done his job well.
